Last month, as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s annual Great British Spring Clean, Team KFC were joined by community groups and local government representatives from across the country, on our mission to clean up our streets and do some litter pickin’ good 🙌 It was brilliant to see so many people get involved and contribute to the approximately 20,000 bags of litter collected across the UK on the day 🚮 So… a BIG thank you to all the local litter pickin’ legends who got involved!   In Leigh alone, this included the Mayor of Wigan, Kevin Anderson; Labour candidate for Leigh and Atherton, Jo Platt and Councillor Dane Anderton; alongside members of Keep Britain Tidy and Wigan Youth Zone 💪   We followed the team in Leigh on their litter pick– so be sure to check out some of the highlights below, which includes thoughts from some of the local representatives who joined us on the day 👇   #KFCUKI #GreatBritishSpringClean

🦈🍗 You're gonna need a bigger bucket! 🍗🦈 We've recently unleashed the Jaws-themed redesign at our Thorpe Park restaurant, and trust us, it's an experience you won't want to miss. Located in the heart of Amity Cove, amidst the aftermath of a giant tidal wave, our restaurant takes dining to new depths. We have created a truly bespoke KFC experience, tailoring our heritage design and décor but in keeping with the time period and aspects of the movie ‘Jaws’. Today, we are proudly celebrating five of our Restaurant General Managers (RGM’s) who have graduated from De Montfort University with a Business Management Degree in the past year. Annabelle Casement from team Gastronomy Foods UK Limited in Wrexham, Sophie Hyde from team Splendid Restaurants (Colonel) Ltd in Redditch, Stacey Birch from Bury, Joshua Dougliss, from Oxley, and Shamim Reza from Enfield have successfully balanced their RGM responsibilities with rigorous academic pursuits over the past three years. At KFC, we are committed to investing in the potential of our people. That's why since 2013, we partnered with De Montfort University to offer degree apprenticeships that empower individuals with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours needed to excel in their roles. It’s been a flying start to 2024 for new KFC openings across the UK. Following 4 new restaurant launches in December, our franchisee Moto Hospitality have spread their wings even further with 5 new stores joining the roost in just 10 days this month. Moto’s continued growth has delivered hundreds of new jobs for local communities in Lymm, Southwaite, Grantham, Frankley and Washington, and the team aren’t slowing down either. Having doubled in size from this time last year, and with plans to add another 5 stores before the summer is out – they are giving everyone more chance to enjoy our 11 herbs and spices this Easter weekend. #LifeAtKFC #KFCUKI

Yesterday, KFC team members, community groups and local government representatives joined forces to tackle the UK’s litter problem, as part of Keep Britain Tidy's annual #GreatBritishSpringClean 🙌 It was great to work alongside so many local litter pickin’ heroes including Merseyside Youth Association, and local councillors Barbara Murray, Daniel Barrington and Laura Robertson-Collins, to help create cleaner, litter free communities across the UK. With great chicken comes great responsibility to tackle the UK’s growing litter problem, and we know it’s Litter Pickin’ Good for our community to have clean, tidy and litter-free streets.   That’s why we’ve once again teamed up with the nation’s leading environmental charity, Keep Britain Tidy, for the #GreatBritishSpringClean 🙌 Today, KFC team members, local litter-picking groups, and councillors, are hitting the streets to clean up their communities. 💪   Over the last three years, we’ve collected a crackin’ 50,000 bags of litter and we’re aiming to pick up a further 20,000 bags today. 🚮 #KFCUKI #GreatBritishSpringClean 

KFC colleagues from across the country are gearing up for the fourth consecutive edition of the #GreatBritishSpringClean, in partnership with the nation’s leading environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy. ♻ Next week we will be teaming up with community litter-picking organisations and local government representatives, on a mission to clean up the UK's streets and aim to collect a whopping 20,000 bags of litter. 💪 Recent data from Keep Britain Tidy suggests that there are 153 million pieces of litter on England's streets at any given time, fuelling our determination to tackle the country's growing litter problem head-on. 🚮 At KFC, we recognise the vital role businesses play in maintaining the cleanliness of Britain's streets and we're committed to reducing our environmental footprint with a goal to become a zero-waste business by 2035. We are excited to share that the latest KFC Youth Foundation grant round is now open. We're eagerly seeking applications from non-profit organizations across the UK.   These grants make a huge difference to recipients, creating opportunities and safe spaces for young people, to inspire and empower them to take control of their lives and make positive change for a positive future.   The Foundation has supported incredible grassroots organisations around the UK, including Surrey Clubs For Young People, who have provided business advice to independent groups launching or running youth clubs for over a decade.
